I don't agree with ArtStation's response to A.I.-generated content. As both artist and art director, I'm only here for human-made art. Although there's now a #noAI tag and updates to policy, it came only after a lawsuit and at the cost of hundreds of hours of work by artists who make this place worth visiting. Editorial science illustration for Symmetry Magazine via Sandbox Studio: "How JWST will test models of cold dark matter": https://tinyurl.com/SMDarkMatter0322 The James Webb Space telescope is expected to “make cutting-edge observations to help scientists answer myriad outstanding questions in astronomy—including questions about the nature of dark matter.”

I love physics (from the particular to the universal) and all of the invisible oddities within, so this was an especially exciting project. Big thanks to Michael at Sandbox for the assignment, for encouraging creativity, and letting me fly with these ideas. & to my friend A, without whom it wouldn’t have happened!

*In reality dark matter is thought to be a huge halo surrounding a galaxy; I’ve taken artistic license with the echoed form here.
