The Operating System • Sci-Fi Web Art • 2009

I built The Operating System (http://olenashmahalo.com/operatingsystem/) in 2009 to tell a visual story about the universe and our place in it. Inspired by concepts in cosmology, biology, systems theory, and “ star stuff “. Written in the farcically pompous tone of an imaginary naturalist :) The code hides some easter eggs that further detail the site’s elements and story.

A few years after creating this website, I returned to school to study physics properly, and shortly after that I joined Quanta Magazine to make learning and creating visuals about these subjects my full-time job.
