Some plants for your desktop garden:
-
Begonia maculata:
white-spotted begonia, native to Brazil.
-
Monstera deliciosa:
popular houseplant with perforated/fenestrate leaves. Sometimes (incorrectly) called "split-leaf" or "swiss cheese" "Philodendron". Native to Central America.
-
Philodendron gloriosum:
Philodendron species with a velvety leaf texture. Newly-unfurled leaves are usually pink & chartreuse in color. Excellent indoors. Native to Colombia.
-
Pilea peperomioides:
Uber-popular plant that was all over Europe but extremely difficult to find in the USA until ~2017-2018. Now readily available, largely thanks to the houseplant craze on social media which has grown steadily over the past 5-10 years. Easy to propagate because it readily grows "babies" from the soil around the main plant. Native to southern China.
